Necklace length for women vary between range of 10 to 48 inches. Some necklace are sold in odd-inch lengths, but mostly women buy their necklace in even length.

10 to 14 inches necklace length wraps closely around the neck. 16 inches necklace is called choker length, which wraps closely loosely around the neck.

Matinee range is 20 to 24 inches which will typically lay between a just below the bust. Lastly, one should consider the clasp length while buying a necklace. It is a connector to hold it together which is not included in necklace measurement.
